Hi Everyone!

My name is Sarah and I am a Registered Social Worker. I’m a self-described lover of learning, with a passion for helping others. I started my education by earning a Bachelors of Psychology at the University of New Hampshire. While I found this educational experience highly enlightening, I came to realize that my career goals were more attuned with becoming a social worker. Continuing to be motivated by a strong desire to have a career as a health care professional, I went back to school to complete my Bachelors of Social Work at York University. I then finished my formal education by earning a Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto.

Since I started my career as a social worker I have worked in a variety of settings. I’ve worked in the community, supporting adults with complex mental health challenges. I have also worked in the hospital setting, in both adolescent and adult treatment programs. These opportunities have allowed me to gain experience helping people work through, and cope with, a variety of mental health concerns, ranging from anxiety and relationship issues, to mania and psychosis.

I am a firm believer that therapy is for everyone! In my opinion, seeking the support of a therapist when you are struggling with such things as your mood, thoughts, or relationships should be as normal as going to a doctor when you need stitches. I also understand that mental health struggles can be highly unique experiences. Guided by this understanding, I continue to dedicate my time to learning how to apply a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). My goal as a therapist is to individualized your experience, so that you feel you’re getting exactly what you need to improve your mental health.

If you feel like you need individual support due to your mood, anxiety, emotions, relationships, or difficult life experiences, I look forward to hearing from you!
